Sofia Arvidsson and Caroline Wozniacki were in Bastad to check out the new WTA event, in the morning the girls practised at the venue. Then the girls met with the media, posing for photos and answering questions for interviews.

The tournament is new to this year's WTA tour, it is replacing the Stockholm tournament which was held in early August. The ATP tournament has won many awards for being the players favourite event, therefore expectations are high for the new Sony Ericsson WTA tournament.
